This grape, almost certainly originally from South Tyrol, is one of the great aromatic varieties which requires hilly terrain and full sunlight in order to grow. Cantine Monfort’s vineyards are located in Valsugana valley, near Cirè di Pergine, at 500 metres a.s.l.. Facing south they receive sun for most of the day and are cultivated in the simple Trentino style pergola planted out at 2.8/9 x 0.8 m.
Colour: pale yellow tending towards golden.
Bouquet: intensely aromatic and spicy with a hint of rose and yellow peach.
Palate: warm, soft and balanced with a persistent finish and a great body.
All types of shellfish, cooked curd cheeses, savory food, white meats and cheese. Excellent as aperitif. Ideal with Asian cooking.
